Mother of the Church

Mary, Mother of Jesus, my Mother, 

I want to call you our Mother 

to feel close to Jesus

and to all my brothers and sisters. 

Come live in me, Mary, with Jesus your beloved Son, 

in silence and in waiting,

in prayer and in offering,

in communion with the Holy Trinity 

and the Church,

in the fervor of your Magnificat, 

that message of complete renewal;

in union with Joseph, your most holy spouse;

in your humble and loving work 

to accomplish Jesus’ will;

in your love for Jesus, for Joseph,

for the Church, and for all humanity; 

in your unshakeable faith

in the midst of so many trials

endured for the kingdom;

in your ceaselessly active hope,

to build a new world of righteousness and peace, 

of happiness and true tenderness; 

in the perfection of your virtues in the Holy Spirit,

so as to become a witness of the Good News,

an apostle of the Gospel.

Continue, O Mother, to work,

to pray, to love, and to sacrifice in me;

continue to carry out the Father’s will,

continue to be the Mother of humanity; 

continue to live Jesus’ passion 

and resurrection in me.

O Mother, I consecrate myself entirely to you, 

now and forever.

In living your spirit and that of Joseph,

I shall live the spirit of Jesus.

I love you, O our Mother,

with Jesus, Joseph, the angels, the saints, 

and all people.

I will share your labors, your cares,

and your struggle

for the kingdom of the Lord Jesus. Amen.
